Blackboard - Content Editor
This guide will take you through the different features of the content editor. The content editor is available in most tools in your course. This includes, items, assignments, tests, discussions and more. With the editor, you can add and format text, attach files, check accessibility, embed multimedia, insert hyperlinks and much more.
If you do not see all the features listed in this guide, click on the three dots in the first row to expand the content editor options.
|Formatting - Bold, Italic, Underline or Strikethrough text.|
|Text Style Menu, Font Type and Font Size – use these options to create headers or sub headers and change the font type/size of the text.|
|Lists – Bulleted and Order Lists|
|Additional Formatting - use these options to change the text colour, highlight sections of text and clear formatting.|
|Cut, Copy, Paste and Search for text in the content editor.|
|Expand the editor bar to show you more features available for you to use.|
|Alignment – text alignment (left, centre, right, justified) and indent text|
Superscript and Subscript
|Insert and Remove hyperlinks.|
|Change the direction of text, insert a horizontal line and or a nonbreaking space.|
|Insert a math equation – Math Type|
|Special Characters – show invisible characters, insert blockquotes, special characters, emojis and page anchors.|
Table – Insert or delete a table, edit table, row or cell properties and insert/delete columns and rows.
Accessibility Checker will identify and show you how to fix:
View the source code and add/edit sample code.
|Preview your text, view help for editor shortcuts and expand the text field to full screen to make it easier to work with.|
Add Content – Use this feature to add different type of media from your computer or course content collection (videos, audio, pictures, files etc.
Use the Yuja Media Chooser to add videos from your Trent Yuja account.
|Displays the word count.|
