Historically, Microsoft Project was pre-installed by Information Technology on all managed lab/classroom computers and made available to managed staff/faculty computers for on-demand installation via the ‘Software Center’.
Due to licensing changes imposed by Microsoft, installed instances of Microsoft Project now come at a significant cost to the University.
As such, on or after July 31, 2019, all installed instances of Microsoft Project will be removed from lab/classroom computers unless explicitly required by curriculum.
It will also become necessary to periodically audit installed instances on managed staff/faculty computers to ensure license compliance requirements are met and license fees accounted for.
Though Microsoft Project remains available for download to staff/faculty machines from IT's Software Centre, if you require software similar in function to Microsoft Project, please consider alternatives first. There are a number available online.
