Information Technology manages billing and distribution of long distance codes for staff and faculty, and has provisioned this enterprise-wide service through a third party long distance telephone company.
Request an Authorization Code:
An authorization code is required to make long distance calls from the campus telephone system.
This code is requested by the system once a user has dialed a 10-digit long distance phone number preceded by a "9" and "1" ahead of the 10 digits.
Requests for Long Distance Codes should be made by the Department Head or Admin Assistant. A departmental account number is required. Staff moves from department to department also require a move request in order to update the GL account codes tied to a long-distance code.
To request a Long Distance Authorization Code, a cancellation or move, please submit details via the Self Serve Hub on the myTrent portal>Services>IT Services.
Long distance personal calls must not be charged to Trent University numbers. Use a personal cell phone, or you can dial 9-1-800-555-1111 to charge a personal long distance call to your Bell calling card.
