Description:
All Trent students are supplied with a computer account also known as “username” or myTrent account which provides the credentials for them to login and access a variety of computing and network services such as the myTrent portal, Blackboard Learning System, email, campus WiFi, lab computers, printing, and Google Apps.
This account is used to authenticate access to applications and services used throughout the university network. Typically, it is created automatically as part of the student registration process and is active for the duration of a student’s academic program(s) and beyond. Integrated with each account is a unique personalized Trent email address in the form username@trentu.ca linked to a private mailbox.
With this account Trent students have access to a suite of services with Google Apps for Education which includes but is not limited to Google Mail, Sites, Drive, Groups, and Calendar. Students can keep their account for life as long as they maintain active usage. Inactive accounts will be removed from the system approximately 16 months after graduation.
Use of the account is subject to all Information Technology policies. Students should review these policies so they understand their responsibilities.
