Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why is this change taking place?
A: This change is being introduced to modernize our single sign-on system and provide additional security and usability features.
Q: Why can't we just have one login page?
A: Our current authentication system does not have the ability to introduce modern security and authentication features. Therefore, we need to upgrade the software to a new version designed by Microsoft. This model, which is similar across all "modern authentication" Microsoft services requires separate pages for username and password.
Q: Will my username or password change?
A: No, your username and password will remain exactly the same. However, remember that the first page requires you to enter your full email address, not your username.
Q: Will this change introduce more inputs to the login process?
A: We have endeavoured to make this change as seamless as possible for our users. By pre-filling the email address you enter on the first login page, the number of inputs remains exactly the same.
Q: Will all myTrent applications see this change?
A: Yes, all applications that are connected to the myTrent authentication will have this changed introduced.
In order to experience the easiest and most seamless sign-on experience, we always recommend navigating to the myTrent portal and logging in to access connected applications.
Q: What enhancements will this update provide for?
A: This upgrade will "pave the way" for exciting new security features that can be leveraged by our partnership with Microsoft. These include enhanced login performance, multi-factor authentication and better ability to track malicious login attempts.
