Blackboard - Getting Started with Blackboard Mobile

Background Information

In the Summer of 2017, Blackboard revised and improved it's mobile services offering to offer a single app for students to use when viewing Blackboard data on a mobile device. This app receives continual improvement from Blackboard developers, and new features are added several times a year. This guide will show you how to get started with Blackboard mobile. 

System Requirements

In order to use Blackboard Mobile, you will need: 

  • An Android device running Android "Nougat" (7.x) or Android "Marshmallow" (6.x) and access to the Google Play Store.
  • An Apple iPhone running iOS 10 or iOS 11 and access to the App Store. 

iOS

  • Open the App Store on your device.
  • Enter "Blackboard" in the search box and tap search.
  • Locate the Blackboard App (see screenshot below) and tap "Get". 
  • Once the app has installed, open it by tapping the icon on your home screen.
  • Select Trent University from the dropdown list and then enter your normal myTrent username and password. 

Android

  • Open the Play store on your device. 
  • Enter "Blackboard" in the search box and tap search. 
  • Locate the Blackboard app (see screenshot below) and tap "Install" 
  • Once the app has been installed, open it by tapping the icon on your apps screen. 
  • Select Trent University from the dropdown list and then enter your normal myTrent username and password
