New Computing and Printing Locations
In our commitment to ensure that computing resources are available to students/faculty/staff during the shutdown of the Bata Library, we are relocating the same number of computers that were available in the library to locations across the East and West bank of the Symons campus. In fact, during this move, we are increasing the number of printing stations available. Computers and print stations will be available for the year as follows:
By end of day May 8th the following areas will be commissioned with public workstations:
Science Complex outside 215 (6 seats)
Science Complex outside 108 (6 seats)
Champlain College 207 (18 seats)
By end of day May 12th the following areas will be commissioned with public workstations:
Lady Eaton College 104 (19 seats - 10 iMacs & 9 PCs + print station)
Lady Eaton College 110 (16 seats)
By end of day May 19th the following areas will be commissioned with public workstations:
Champlain College 201 (22 seats + print station)
Gzowski College lower level (first floor hallway) (22 seats – 6 iMacs & 16 PCs)
Environmental Science Complex B103 (the Crypt) (12 seats)
Otonabee College W 201 (OC Commons) (12 seats)
Otonabee College landing (9 seats - 6 iMacs & 3 PCs + print station)
Drawings of these new spaces can be found at: https://www.trentu.ca/batatransformation/sites/trentu.ca.batatransformation/files/documents/20170425_IT_Combined_Renderings.PDF
We believe that the distribution of computing resources in this manner will allow for easier access to computers and printing throughout the year. Additionally, these computing spaces are non-bookable i.e. students will not have to compete with classes when accessing these spaces.
We appreciate your patience as we take on these aggressive moves and apologize for any inconvenience caused during this transition.
Do not hesitate to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or (705)748-1010 should you have any questions.
Associate Vice President, IT
