Availability of Zoom for Students
You can now easily stay connected with the Trent community, your friends, and your family!
We are pleased to announce the availability of Zoom Licensed accounts to students (formerly only available to faculty and staff). Zoom (https://zoom.us/) is the leader in modern enterprise video communications, with an easy, reliable cloud platform for video and audio conferencing, chat, and webinars. While Basic Zoom accounts are free (https://zoom.us/pricing), they offer very limited features. Licensed accounts affiliated with Trent have the following features:
- Host up to 300 participants
- Join from Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, Linux, or telephone call-in (may incur long distance charges)
- Host meetings with durations of up to 24 hours
- Unlimited meetings
- HD video and voice
- Simultaneous screen share
- Host controls, raise hand, breakout rooms, and chat (all/group/private)
- Co-annotation on shared content and whiteboarding
- MP4 or M4A local recording
- Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and AES 256-bits encryption
- And more…
To take advantage of your licensed account and the above features, you must access Zoom through the myTrent Portal. The icon can be found under Services -> IT Services.
