Beta

Friday, August 28, 2015

Dear All,

In our ongoing efforts to improve our users’ experience, Trent University’s IT department will be providing all staff, faculty, and students the ability to print from their mobile devices (smartphones, tablets, etc.) to any campus printer (subject to printing costs when applicable) from most anywhere.

This service is not yet ready for general release to all users. Our IT team has conducted a number of tests with various devices, but we are also looking for your help to test further and as soon as possible. This will give us a larger sample of information from which to identify possible issues to support users moving forward.

How can you help us?

We are looking for volunteers to test the Google Cloud Print service on as wide of a range of mobile devices as possible. If you’d like to participate in this BETA testing phase, please email:azalewski@trentu.ca with Subject: “GCP Beta”.

Please provide the following information in your email:
• Your mobile device type (e.g. IPhone 5S, Samsung Galaxy s6, etc.)
• Operating system (e.g. Android, iOS (Apple), Blackberry)
• The name of your cellular carrier

Our team will contact you within one to two business days with further details and instructions as to printer installation, how to provide feedback, etc.

Thank you in advance for your help! Together we can ensure as smooth a start as possible to this vital service for all of us.
