Endahying Living Learning Community

Endahying Living Learning Community logo

We respectfully acknowledge that we are on the treaty and traditional territory of the Michi Saagiig Anishinaabeg.  We offer our gratitude to the First Peoples for their care for, and teachings about, our earth and our relations.  May we honour those teachings.

Meaning “Our Home,” the Endahying Community provides a space for students to grow through shared experiences, storytelling and exploration of Indigenous knowledge and understanding. Students who have an interest in Indigenous culture and knowledge, identify as being Indigenous and/or are enrolled in the Chanie Wenjack School for Indigenous Studies, are encouraged to consider this community their home.

What to expect while living in this Residence Learning Community

  • Opportunities to connect with First People’s House of Learning and Faculty and Staff from the Chanie Wenjack School of Indigenous Studies outside of the classroom
  • Participate in Indigenous learning experiences through Tipi Tours and fireside chats, beading workshops, traditional teachings, and visiting Elders in Residence
  • Attend the annual Curve Lake PowWow and annual Elders Gathering at Trent University
  • Explore traditional Indigenous medicines and healing practices in collaboration with the Nursing Living Learning Community
  • Connect with Upper-Year Students through your Living Learning Community Don and the Trent Native Students’ Association (TUNA).

College Affiliation: Peter Gzowski College http://trentu.ca/gzowski
