GIS From Home (#GISFH) Tutorial Series with Trent Library MaDGIC
- Date: Monday, March 8, 2021 - 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM
Trent Library Maps, Data & Government Information Centre (MaDGIC) is pleased to announce its MaDGIC Mondays #GISFH weekly short-tutorial series based on our popular ArcGIS Pro Workshops: Mapping and Data Visualization and Introduction to Suitability Modeling. The series will include content from those workshops as well as some new material.
We are offering a new format that we think will be particularly conducive to virtual learning. Join us for 15-20 minute weekly tutorials followed by a 10-minute Q & A period. No prerequisite is required and participants from all levels are encouraged to join any tutorial that is of interest to them. These sessions will be followed by our regular help hours from 3 – 4:30 p.m. Tutorials will be recorded and posted for viewing after the sessions.
This event is open to students, faculty, and staff
Vist our website for the full schedule of topics.
This week's topic: Introduction to Suitability Modelling and Geoprocessing Tools
In this tutorial, we will discuss the framework for suitability modelling in a GIS and the 3 main types of suitability models (binary, weighted, and fuzzy). Using both vector and raster data, we will practise running various geoprocessing tools and go over what tool parameters are and how to find tool help.
