3-Minute Paper Competition
- Date: Thursday, March 8, 2018 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Building: First Peoples House of Learning, Gzowski College
Room: room 101
After months in the lab, in the field, in the community, or in the archives, Trent University undergraduate students will present their original research in a brief three-minute talk at the fourth annual Three Minute Paper (3MP) competition.
Open to Trent students completing an honours seminar, an honours thesis, or a major project in any discipline at the Peterborough and Durham campuses, the 3MP competition challenges undergraduates to present their work to others, in a clear, concise, and engaging manner. 3MP challenges students to balance complexity and depth with clarity and concision as they explain their research question, their findings, and its relevance to the Trent community; participants can use up to three PowerPoint slides as visual aids to support their talk.
The top three presenters, scored on criteria including knowledge, communication, and engagement, will receive cash prizes, sponsored by the Office of Research, Alumni Affairs, and the Centre for Teaching and Learning. Audience members can vote for their favourite presentation, and one presenter will be awarded the Audience Choice prize, sponsored by the Office of the President.
This event is free and open to the public.
