French Writing
Discover the many advantages of strong French writing skills. Through writing-intensive courses, hands-on workshops, and practical assignments, this specialization will allow you to develop the ability to analyze, research, write, and edit a variety of different forms of French literature. Become proficient at English-to-French translation, and vice-versa – a highly sought after skill in a variety of bilingual workplaces.
Courses & Requirements
Students who have fulfilled the requirements for a degree in French Studies may graduate with a Specialization in French Writing if they have successfully completed the following 4.0 credits:
3.0 FREN credits from:
- FREN 2051H: La Lecture Critique / Critical Reading
- FREN 3051H: Stylistique comparée de l’anglais et du français / Comparative EnglishFrench Stylistics
- FREN 3052H: Traduction anglais-français / English-French Translation
- FREN 3053H: Langue et expression écrite / Language and Written Expression
- FREN 4053H: La communication en contexte / Communication in Context
- FREN 4201H: Création littéraire / Creative Writing
- FREN 4251H: Questions de genre / Gender Issues
- Or any reading course on a writing subject with permission of department chair
And:

1.0 FREN credits from other courses at the 3000 and 4000 level.
