Indigenous Studies Ph.D.

A large group of students sitting on the sofas in the First People's House of Learning studying togetherThe first of its kind in Canada, Trent’s diverse Indigenous Studies Ph.D. program offers faculty with academic credentials and connections to Indigenous communities across the country and around the world. With access to Elders, traditional persons and innovative programs such as Indigenous Environmental Studies, Anishnaabe and Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) languages, you will engage in traditional and contemporary Indigenous knowledge that will transform you. The First Peoples House of Learning boasts a great variety of Indigenous peoples and places, including the only university-based Indigenous performance space in Canada, Nozhem First People’s Performance Space.
