Kinesiology
This hands-on, career-track degree teaches students the knowledge and skills to become a practitioner of kinesiology (the study of human movement). You will learn how to prescribe customized exercise programs and analyze movement patterns for a variety of people. As a Trent Kinesiology student, you are encouraged to apply your learning – in the lab and out in the community – working with everyone from high-performance athletes to senior citizens. When you graduate, you will have the required expertise to pursue certification as a registered kinesiologist (R.Kin.).

- Participate in a fourth-year placement, getting experience working alongside practitioners at facilities including local sports clinics, camps, or Trent Health in Motion (a private multidisciplinary health clinic located right on campus)
- Develop your skills in exercise testing, movement assessments, injury management techniques and functional anatomy through a variety of hands-on labs
- Learn to work with a variety of clients, including Olympic hopefuls, Indigenous groups, and older individuals in Trent University’s fully equipped Exercise Physiology and Biomechanics Labs
- Get advanced clinical and practical health perspective through courses integrated with Trent’s Nursing program

Physiotherapist
Physiotherapists assess patients and plan and carry out individually designed treatment programs to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning and mobility, alleviate pain and prevent physical dysfunction in patients. Physiotherapists are employed in hospitals, clinics, industry, sports organizations, rehabilitation centres and extended care facilities, or they may work in private practice.
