International Political Economy

Build a strong foundation for a broad range of career or postgraduate opportunities in one of the first International Political Economy programs offered in Canada.
degree

Explore the interconnections between politics and economics in an era of intensifying globalization. Trent’s International Political Economy (IPE) program – one of the first of its kind in Canada – introduces students to global issues in wealth inequalities, civil unrest, trade agreements, and other challenges in geo-politics and global markets. As a student in this program, you will learn how localized events have ripple effects on the global economy, and how global power structures influence those effects. This multidisciplinary degree can also be combined with one of several other academic disciplines at Trent as part of a joint major degree. No matter your path, you will develop the acute analytical and critical thinking skills required for a variety of corporate, political, development, and advocacy careers, or future postgraduate studies.

Degrees Offered:

  • B.A. (Honours)
