French Studies

An emphasis on all French Canadian cultures makes this degree unique. Study courses on Quebec culture and literature as well as Acadian and Franco-Ontarian literatures, including Indigenous writers working in French.

With 220 million French speakers worldwide (projected to be more than 700 million by 2050), French language and comprehension has become
a highly-sought after and important skill. In this program, you’ll immerse yourself in French, French Canadian, and Francophone literatures and cultures.

Admission Requirements

Ontario Secondary School Requirements:

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
  • A minimum of six Grade 12 4U or 4M courses, including program specific prerequisites
  • A minimum 70% overall final average (unless otherwise specified)
  • ENG 4U with a minimum of 60%
