As a two-time alumnus of Trent University, I have spent a long time studying and working in Peterborough. My background includes both Biology and Forensics.I primarily oversee the first-year Forensic Science Labs (FRSC1010H & FRSC 1011H). As with most first-year courses, there may be a lot of students registered in the course, but I’m available during lab times to aid TAs in their labs or to meet with students. Outside of the first-year labs I help organize Online Labs for several Forensic courses and help whenever extra lab demonstrating is needed for upper-year courses. I’m always happy to meet a new cohort of students every year, and help get them ready for Forensic Science at Trent.

I graduated from the Forensic Science program in 2008 and gladly returned to Trent in 2010 as a Laboratory Demonstrator after gaining valuable experience in local private laboratories. I teach labs for the upper year courses in the department so you will see me weekly starting in your third year. I love that I get to work with you so regularly and actually get to know you! Through a wide range of exercises, you will learn skills such as crime scene photography, fingerprint development, bloodstain pattern analysis, and DNA profiling. In 2016, I was honored to receive the Award for Excellence in Teaching Assistance. I’m proud to be a part of such an excellent program and I look forward to the chance to share it with you!

I graduated from Trent in 2006 with a BSc in Biology and Psychology and again in 2009 with a MSc in Environmental and Life Sciences (Genetics). I am responsible for coordinating the experiential learning that occurs outside of regular class hours and off campus. The best part of my job is meeting with students enrolled in the Professional Placement course, finding out what their career goals are and doing my best to place them with an organization to help further those goals. I also work closely with the Forensic Science Society (undergraduate student group) and program alumni to facilitate networking and career planning events. I am always interested in growing my network and exploring new partnerships so please get in touch if you have any ideas.
