Grounds Maintenance

The Symons Campus grounds consist of 1,460 acres including grass, trees, gardens, trails, shrubs, parking lots, roadways and pedestrian areas.

Our aim is to maintain the University grounds and to showcase these grounds as a desirable place for students, staff and the community to study, work and play.

Grounds staff are responsible for:

  • Maintenance, care and planting of all lawns, trees, shrubs, gardens and flower beds - a combination of perennials and annuals are planted and maintained.
  • Maintenance of Athletic fields.
  • Storm drainage systems.
  • Asphalt/concrete surface repairs.
  • Exterior waste/recyclable collection and disposal.
  • Irrigation program and maintenance.
  • Curbs, signs, fences, garden furniture and other exterior fixtures.
  • Bush, woodlands, trails and meadows.
  • Snow and ice removal.
  • New landscape work and capital project assistance.

Service requests can be made by contacting fixit@trentu.ca
