Peterborough Public Library
This alternative settings placement is a partnership between Trent School of Education and the Peterborough Public Library. The purpose of this placement is to give teacher candidates a deeper understanding of community-based literacy initiatives. Teacher candidates will have an opportunity to develop programming, curriculum, and resources that contribute to the public library’s ongoing goals for educational outreach. Candidates will take a flexible approach with their projects and consider the areas in which they want to focus their learning based on the current needs of the library and their ongoing projects, including an increase in Indigenous knowledge and literacy.
This placement is open to all Teacher Candidates in the Bachelor of Education and Indigenous Bachelor of Education programs.
