Five Counties Children's Centre

*** This opportunity is currently not available ***

With Claire Mooney, in partnership with the Five Counties Children’s Centre. Within the Centre children and their families have access to a range of specialised resources from speech/language therapy and occupational therapy to preschool resource teachers and specialised clinics. The services offered by the centre are available both in their own locations but also within the community. Many of these community based services can be provided to children within their school settings, which means that teachers interact with and support their work with students. This placement is an opportunity to become familiar with the range of services and provision offered by the Five Counties Children’s Centre.

The Five Counties Children’s Centre receives its basic funding from the Government, however it offers opportunities that stretch far beyond its basic funding. In order to be able to continue to provide the level of service that addresses the diverse needs of the children and their families they need to ensure additional monies are raised. To this end they are expanding their legacy giving campaign and need a video made that clearly details the vital work of the Centre. The placement will involve meeting with senior staff at the Centre to establish the parameters of the video; story-boarding ideas; videoing at various Five Counties locations; and editing the final video to give to the Centre. This placement will provide the opportunity to really become familiar with the work of the Five Counties Children’s Centre whilst at the same time developing useful skills that can be utilised in the classroom with children.
