School’s in for the Summer at Trent University: New Course Session to Begin June 19
School’s in for the summer at Trent University – new or returning Trent students and students from another institution, are encouraged to register now for the next session of summer courses, which will begin Monday, June 19.
Offered on campus in both Peterborough and Durham – GTA, as well as online, summer courses are available in nearly every discipline and program. Students looking to get a head start on their next semester are invited to choose from popular summer courses in Business, Social Work, Genetics, Cyberethics, Forensics, and more, or experience something new – from Dreams and Dreaming to Cell Biology, and everything in between.
“Summer courses offer students flexibility, as well as experiential learning opportunities. Many courses offer some great hands-on learning in the summer months such as field courses, community based research projects or internships,” explains Tina Fridgen, academic advisor, at Trent University. “Summer courses also offer students an increased focus. They are often condensed and allow students more time to focus on the one subject material in a shorted period of time, without the distraction of the other four courses they would normally be taking during the school year.”
“If it’s possible, I like to take the mandatory courses for my degree during the summer months, because then I have more electives to choose from during the school year. It offers me more flexibility,” said Pippa O”Brien, an Economics student at Trent.
Check out the summer course timetable online, and register for the next six-week session of summer courses today.
