Fall Health & Safety Update
Our fall term is now officially underway and we hope you are as excited as we are about the year ahead. Here are a few reminders of how we can work together to maintain a safe, healthy campus environment this year:
- Keep up-to-date on vaccinations. While vaccinations are not a requirement for students not living in residence, all members of our campus communities are strongly encouraged to stay up-to-date with your vaccinations and get your COVID-19 booster doses as soon as you are eligible. Need a shot? Appointments for local clinics can be booked online through Ontario’s online booking portal. The University is also working with Public Health to host future on-campus clinics. Check the Trent Forward site for updates.
- Stay home if you are feeling unwell. Provincial guidelines have changed so be sure to complete the Province’s updated self-assessment for recommendations on what to do if you are experiencing any symptoms of illness or have tested positive for COVID-19.
- If you miss a class, be sure to keep up with your academic work and ask a classmate for notes. Talk to your instructor if you will miss a test or assignment.
- Pick up a mask on campus. Masking requirements at Trent continue to be paused, but will be revisited if necessary. Be sure to assess your own personal risk to make decisions around masking. We encourage you to wear a mask in high-capacity spaces where physical distancing cannot be maintained. Under the new provincial guidelines, masks should also be worn if you have been experiencing symptoms. If you need a mask, you can pick one up from your college office, the Student Centre, and libraries at both campuses.
Rest assured, the University continues to consult with Public Health and monitor conditions. We will advise our campus communities of any changes to plans or requirements. Updates and Information about health and safety developments measures in place on our campuses, including wastewater testing and improved ventilation throughout our buildings, can be found on the Trent Forward website.
If you have questions, or require support, be sure to connect with Student Affairs or your College principal.
Stay well and stay safe.
