Planning for a Safe Thanksgiving and Reading Week
Thank you for all you have been doing to help make our fall term a safe and successful one at Trent. With the Thanksgiving weekend ahead and Reading Week following closely behind this month, I know that many of our students may choose to travel to be home with family. Whether or not you are travelling, this is a pivotal time as our communities work to stop the spread of COVID-19, and we encourage everyone in our University community to be extra vigilant.
Please ensure you use the daily provincial self-assessment tool (also available on the Trent Mobile app), wear a mask, maintain physical distancing, practice good hand hygiene, and limit your contact with others. Students who are travelling outside of Canada are required to complete a 14-day quarantine upon return to the country under the Can Quarantine Act. The attached safe travelling tips sheet is a handy guide to reducing the risk of COVID-19.
If you are feeling ill with symptoms of COVID-19, please self-isolate until public health advises it is safe to return to regular activities. If you need to return to our campus community and are experiencing difficulties or issues with being able to self-isolate, or are in need of academic and personal support, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your phone number so they can connect and assist.
With few exceptions, the Trent community has shown exemplary care and attention to provincial requirements and respect for one another.
Wishing you a healthy and safe Thanksgiving and the very best for your Reading Week plans.
Stay well – and thank you for helping us support the province’s efforts to flatten the curve on this second wave of COVID-19.
