Fall Planning Update
As our second month of physical distancing measures continues, it is reassuring to see recent reports indicating the curve on COVID-19 is moving in the right direction. I also continue to be impressed with the acts of compassion, kindness and leadership shown at all levels at Trent and in our communities.
With the summer semester underway online beginning May 4, we want to affirm that Trent University is now planning for a fall term and that we look forward to welcoming both new and returning students. With the health and safety of our campus community and academic success of our students as our top priorities, we continue to monitor the evolving COVID19 situation and plan for a number of scenarios for the format of classes, research and other University operations. Whether these will be in person, a mix of formats, or online, we will deliver the high calibre of education for which Trent is known.
As Trent adjusts to our “new reality” (for now), we are working with colleagues across our campuses, the province and the country, on planning and next steps. In recent weeks we have been buoyed by support from both the provincial and federal government, with announcements of important investments for students and research. These investments show that along with all universities, Trent has a vital role to play in Ontario’s recovery and future.
Stay well and continue to check back to trentu.ca/covid19 for the latest information regarding Trent’s response to COVID-19.
