Trent University Convocation

Convocation is the formal ceremony for the conferral of degrees, diplomas and certificates, and a time-honoured tradition that celebrates every student’s academic accomplishments. It is a commemoration of your life at Trent and an opportunity to share this significant milestone with your family and friends.

Please note that convocation ceremonies will be video recorded and photographed. Convocation ceremonies are public events that are recorded in various ways including webcast, video and photography. These images and recordings may be used for official purposes, such as promoting Trent University. If you have any questions, please contact convocation@trentu.ca.

2023 Graduates - Next Steps!

  • The Application to Graduate was due on APRIL 11, 2023. You must complete this form in order to receive your degree/diploma/certificate. Please contact the Office of the Registrar at registrar@trentu.ca with any questions.
  • You must complete the RSVP form in order to attend your ceremony. Please ensure you have applied to graduate prior to completing the RSVP.

Convocation 2023 Ceremony Schedule

Peterborough convocation ceremonies are held on the University Court outside of Bata Library in good weather (sunscreen and hats are strongly recommended for graduates and guests in Peterborough), they are scheduled for:

  • June 6, 2023 (2 p.m. ceremony only)
  • June 7, 2023 (10 a.m. & 2 p.m.)
  • June 8, 2023 (10 a.m. & 2 p.m.)
  • June 9, 2023 (10 a.m. & 2 p.m.)
  • June 12, 2023 (10 a.m. & 2 p.m.)
  • June 13, 2023 (10 a.m. ceremony only)

Durham convocation ceremonies are held at the Tribute Communities Centre in Oshawa, and are scheduled for:

  • June 16, 2023 (10 a.m. & 2 p.m.)

Both the Peterborough and Durham ceremonies will be grouped by degrees and specific programs. Please see the '2023 Schedule' tab at the top menu of this screen to view the ceremony schedule.
