Continuing Education Program
Trent University’s Continuing Education program offers a diverse range of not-for-credit courses and workshops for adult learners which accommodate a 9-5 work schedule. Our courses and workshops are moving back to in-person classes in the Fall 2022.
Our seminar-style courses encourage interactive learning and discussion, running either 6 or 8 weeks in duration. These courses are specially designed to be individual classes with an overarching theme or narrative which brings them together into a course. These 2-hour classes are offered weekly on weeknights from 7pm to 9pm.
Our weekend workshops take half-day, 1-day or 2-day formats and offer interactive opportunities to learn a new skill or develop existing ones. These workshops occur on various weekends throughout the term.
The program offers 3 terms each year which are 8 to 10 weeks in duration.
- Fall – Mid-October to early December
- Winter – Mid-March to early May
- Summer – Mid-June to early August
Registrations opens 2 weeks prior to the start date for the course. Register online by clicking here.

In the event of a cancellation due to low enrollment, you will be given at least 24-hours’ notice. We will reach out to you at the phone number and email address provided. At this time, you may elect to transfer your registration to another course of interest or request a refund.

In the event that we are unable to find a mutually agreeable time, a refund will be issued for the missed class.
Refunds will be issued in the same method of payment received or by cheque to the mailing address provided at the time of registration. Please allow up to four weeks for refunds to be processed.

Our COVID-19 Response and Changes to Continuing Education for the Fall Term 2022
Trent Continuing Education is moving back to in-person classes in the Fall 2022. We encourage the use of masks in all classes, however, they are not mandatory for students. Free masks are available in the College Office, situated in room 106 in Scott House. Classrooms are cleaned on a regular basis and extra cleaning supplies are available for use. Students are asked not to come to class if experiencing symptoms of Covid-19. The provincial screening tool can be accessed here.
