Traill College Guest Suite

Traill College Guest Suite

Guest suites are an essential part of the collegiate experience. They allow the accommodation of scholars and otherwise support the academic mission of the College.

Traill College’s guest suite is a two-bedroom, one-bathroom space with a full kitchen and living room situated on the first floor of Wallis Hall.

The Traill College Guest Suite is managed by the Traill College Office (traill@trentu.ca) and revenues are used to support College activities. The current charge is $100/night plus applicable taxes.

Departments and groups can contact the College Principal about waiving the daily fee. In these cases, this in-kind contribution towards visitors and events shall be acknowledged as an activity “co-sponsored by Traill College.” The College logo is available from the College Office for promotional materials.

Terms of Use (Fall to Spring):

The College always reserves the right to have priority over the Guest Suite and in cases of emergency has the right to cancel or reschedule a reservation.

Departments that are based at Traill are the next priority for the space. Departments shall be charged $100/night, unless otherwise negotiated with the Principal.

Other Trent departments are welcome to make reservations at the standard rate.

Faculty who commute to Peterborough are also welcome to use the Guest Suite at a rate of $100/night (plus taxes), unless otherwise negotiated with the Principal.

Because of high demand, parents of students are not normally encouraged to use the Guest Suite, but the space can be made available in exceptional circumstances.

Similarly, alumni are not encouraged to use the Guest Suite during the academic term.

Students are not allowed to book the Guest Suite, but the space can be made available in exceptional circumstances.

Terms of Use (Summer):

The College always reserves the right to have priority over the Guest Suite and in cases of emergency has the right to cancel or reschedule a reservation.

During the week of Convocation, the priority for booking the Guest Suite will be given to the Office of the President and the Convocation organizers.

Current Trent employees, alumni and non-Trent patrons are welcome to book the Guest Suite over the summer months. Special rates for long-term use can be negotiated.

Long-Term Use Rates and Services (Summer):

The recommended long-term rate for summer use $400 (plus taxes) per week.

Long-term users of the Guest Suite will see its operation move to a self-catering model where sheets are changed and garbage removed once a week. In the interim, guests are asked to clean as required the kitchen and common areas and remove garbage to the bins located at the back of Wallis Hall. Long-term guests are also expected to provide their own toiletries.
