Teachers Recognized for Exceptional Commitment at Trent University

Annual awards ceremony brings Trent University community together to celebrate excellence

At a University renowned for teaching excellence, Trent faculty members are honoured on an annual basis with a number of distinguished teaching awards. The Trent University community nominates and recognizes the successful teachers who stand out in having a positive impact on students.

The 2012 Celebration of Teaching Excellence took place on Wednesday, April 4 in the Lady Eaton College Pit.

The 2012 teaching award recipients are:

  • Award for Educational Leadership and Innovation
    Dr. Jocelyn Williams, Anthropology
  • Symons Award for Excellence in Teaching
    Professor Emeritus Tom Hutchinson, Environmental and Resource Science/Studies
  • CUPE 3908-1 Award for Excellence in Part-Time Teaching
    Mr. Jose Miguel Garcia Ramirez, Modern Languages & Literatures
  • Excellence in Teaching Assistance Award
    Mr. Evan Senkiw, Political Studies

Trent is consistently recognized nationally and internationally for award-winning faculty who are committed to the success of the individual student. As dedicated mentors and teachers, Trent faculty pride themselves on making their classes and lessons both challenging and enjoyable for their students.
