College Office

Welcome to the Otonabee College Office

In the Otonabee College Office (OC W102), we are here to support every aspect of student life. Whether it be Academic Support through advising, to your social and personal well-being, or to help you establish your own identity during your time at Trent. The College Office provides you with a place to connect with peers and plenty of opportunities to become involved in College Life during your undergraduate career. Drop by whenever you wish for support, a friendly face and a cup of tea!

Otonabee College Ambassadors

The Otonabee College Ambassadors are the first point of contact in the College Office for students who are having difficulties, feeling lost, or looking for help.  Their primary focus is on one-on-one support of students, and assisting the professional staff in the college office. They are also responsible for coordinating student volunteers with the College Office. This team of students also creates a strong sense of community among students in the college through networking with faculty, staff and student groups in order to promote participation in workshops, events and informal gatherings. They will also contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of college events and activities. This team of students work in the office from September until April. There is also one position available in the college for the summer months (May to end of August).

College Orientation Facilitator

In the office during the summer there is also a College Orientation Facilitator. In collaboration and partnership with the Student Affairs Orientation Facilitator, this role is responsible for providing leadership during transition programing, including but not limited to: Bring it On!, Summer Orientation, Summer Connect, Orientation Week, new student registration, and student support in the College Office.
The overarching goals of the student roles in this office are to:

  • Foster a strong sense of community
  • Build skills to manage life as a university student
  • Engage with faculty outside of the classroom
  • Inspire students to engage with the interesting and challenging issues facing our world today
