Future Students Invited to Experience Trent University at Ontario Universities’ Fair
Future students and their families will be transported from the Metro Toronto Convention Centre to Trent University’s spectacular campuses at the upcoming Ontario Universities’ Fair (OUF) running from September 28-30, 2018.
At the OUF, future students will have the opportunity to row their way down the Otonabee River, participate in orientation events, and experience a lecture hall at both campuses – all as part of Trent’s virtual reality 360-degree sizzle reel. Innovative new degree programs will be on display with professors and students ready to share the features that create a transformative learning experience and provide guaranteed career experience at Trent. Trent University’s college principals will also be on hand to share the advantages of collegiate life and learning.
Highlighted at OUF this year will be a number of new programs for fall 2019, including: Chemical Engineering dual degree (pending approval); new Forensic Biology & Forensic Chemistry degrees; Law & Arts / Law & Business dual degree; Medical and Veterinary School pathways; and more.
Students interested in studying at Trent’s thriving Durham campus in the GTA will also be interested in learning about new degree offerings in Policing & Community Well-being (pending approval) and Computing Systems, as well as plans for future campus expansion, including on-site student residence spaces, a central outdoor green courtyard and new academic spaces.
“Students and parents will note Trent’s bigger two-campus presence at this year’s Ontario Universities’ Fair with a focus on our Durham GTA campus and our Peterborough campus,” said Marilyn Burns, associate vice-president of Marketing and Recruitment at Trent University. “Also new this year will be details about guaranteed career experience for every Trent student. We will have our stellar team of professors and students from a range of programs ready to answer questions about the Trent experience, scholarships and admissions requirements. They are always joined by our deans, college principals, provost/vice-president and our president – a demonstration of the commitment of Trent’s senior leadership to student success. Our popular 360 VR is back – and any student who comes to a Trent presentation will receive a special Trent gift. Can’t wait to see everyone at OUF 2018!”
All attendees are invited to take in a 20-minute multi-media presentation by a successful Trent graduate that provides even more detail on Trent’s leading academic programs, expanding facilities and transformative student experience. Students attending the Trent presentation will receive a gift, and at both the Trent booth and presentation, students can enter for a chance to win first-year tuition free. When they connect with Trent, and each time they attend a Trent presentation or visit campus for tours or events, students can enter again and again to increase their chances of winning.
Over the course of the three-day event, 135,000 visitors are expected to attend OUF to learn more about Trent’s two campuses in Peterborough and Durham Greater Toronto Area (GTA), as well as 21 other universities across Ontario.
Trent has been attending the OUF since the fair’s inception in 1997 as a way to help secondary students gather information about programs, student life, residences, financial aid, work-study opportunities, study abroad, and admission requirements. Visit Trent University at the OUF at the Metro Convention Centre in downtown Toronto September 28-30 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
