There are many different places you can look for jobs. Below are some resources available to students at Trent University.

On-campus jobs

Earn extra cash during your school year and build valuable work skills through a student job on campus.

Many places on campus hire student staff regularly—apply for school-year positions in August or summer jobs in May.

Check out examples of possible on-campus jobs organized by skill set.

All of the on-campus job postings we receive are posted on the Student Job Board.

Some things to keep in mind when job searching on-campus:

  • Start with a solid résumé, tailored to the position.
  • Get to know your professors and keep your eyes open for opportunity.
  • Networking and talking to Trent faculty and staff is a great way to hear about potential jobs.
  • Attend Careerspace workshops for more info.

Off-campus jobs

Looking for off-campus jobs during the school year or after you graduate? We add external postings on the Student Job Board and list them under the "External" tab.

Also, check out our external links for government and other job boards.

Don't forget to attend our job fairs. These are great opportunities to meet employers and apply for positions.

Still need help? Attend one of our résumé or work search workshops.

Summer jobs

The Summer Job Fair is a great opportunity to meet employers and apply for positions. We frequently add postings to the Student Job Board.

Also, check out our external links for government and other job boards.

Still need help? Attend one of our résumé or work search workshops.

Graduate year recruitment

Many companies are looking to hire students who are recent graduates or soon-to-be graduates from a wide range of backgrounds. These positions are typically professional.

Graduate year recruitment begins early in your final year, so be sure to start your work search as soon as you arrive back at school in September. If you leave it a couple of months before you graduate, you may miss out on a lot of opportunities.

Employers use many methods to recruit graduates on campus, including:

  • Conducting information sessions to inform students of opportunities
  • Setting up displays
  • Conducting first interviews

Follow us on social media for updates about upcoming employer visits and events on campus.

Work search assistance

Finding employment is often about the approach and strategies you use.  Check out Career Planning and Work Search Links or book an individual appointment.
