CUPE 2 Student Marker positions

THIS AD IS FOR CUPE UNIT 2 positions. - You must be a registered Student at Trent University in order to apply.

The School for the Study of Canada – Undergraduate invites applications for CUPE 3908 Unit 2 Student Markers for the 2020-21 academic year. Positions are at various times during the Academic Year 2020-21.

The hourly rate of pay is in accordance with CUPE 3908 Unit 2 Academic Assistant and may be found in Appendix A Wage Rates on page 41 of the CUPE Unit 2 collective agreement:

Student Markers (SM) shall be defined as an enrolled Trent University student whose assigned duties may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Marking, grading, calculating and recording grades of students’ work;
  • Marking preparation based on course materials;
  • Marking and grading of lab reports/ assignments, tests, exams and essays;
  • Commenting upon students’ work as required.

Duties related to the position, shall be determined by the person(s) who has (have) principal responsibility for the course.

Qualifications:

  • Academic experience in the interdisciplinary field of Canadian Studies; demonstrated skills in writing proficiency.

It is not often that we have grading positions outside of GTA assignments, but we welcome your application.

 

Graduate Teaching Positions 2020-21

These positions are available for those graduate students who have Graduate Teaching Assistant Funding.  

Please note that the postings for 2020-21 are tentative, pending budgetary approval, and will be updated by July 2, 2020.  Also, Winter 2021 assignments may chance according to COVID 19 restrictions.  Assignments will not be made until after August 1, 2020.

Application Procedure (as per CUPE 2 collective agreement): All GTAs are required to submit an up-to-date CV and cover letter that will serve as a statement of interest for their preferred course. Returning Graduate Teaching Assistants will have until August 1st to indicate preferred course, after which remaining courses will be assigned to the incoming GTAs.
