How do I create an in-text citation in CSE Vancouver/Citation-Name style?


Book with One Author

General format:

Reference number. Author. Title. Place of publication: publisher; date. Extent. Notes.

Example:

1. McCormac JC. Surveying. Hoboken (NJ): John Wiley & Sons; 2004.

Book with More than One Author

General format:

Reference number. Author(s). Title. Edition. Place of publication: publisher; date. Extent. Notes.

Example:

1. Seinfeld JH, Pandis SN. Atmospheric chemistry and physics: from air pollution to climate change. 3rd ed. Hoboken (NJ): Wiley; 2016.

Book with an Editor

General format:

Reference number. Author(s), editor(s). Title. Edition. Place of publication: publisher; date. Extent.

Example:

1. Adams WP, Taylor CH, editors. Peterborough and the Kawarthas, 3rd edition. Peterborough (ON): Department of Geography, Trent University; 2009.

Book with an Organization as an Author

General format:

Reference number. Organization name. Title. Place of publication: publisher; date.

Example:

Note:

  1. Put the organization’s acronym at the beginning of the reference if you have referred to the organization with an acronym in your text.
