Join the conversation celebrating northern research at Trent!
The Trent Northern Studies Colloquium (NSC) is a one-day event dedicated to showcasing, discussing and celebrating the University's excellence in northern research. We are excited to announce that this year’s Northern Studies Colloquium will be on Tuesday, March 19, 2019! It is free and open to all.
Join us during the day (9 am-4 pm) at the Gathering Space (in First Peoples House of Learning) for graduate and undergraduate student presentations about their northern research.
In the evening (6-9:30 pm), Geoff Green, co-founder of Students on Ice, will present the Canada C3 documentary at Market Hall downtown. This will be followed by a panel discussion with invited guests, including Mary Simon, respected advocate for northern Indigenous peoples, first Canadian Ambassador for Circumpolar Affairs, and former Trent chancellor on the interface of research, public engagement, youth education, and reconciliation. Light evening fare will be provided.
We hope to see you there!
