The Trent Library hosts its own Open Journal System (OJS), an open-source publishing platform that allows Trent faculty to create and host an open-access journal. Trent provides server space, help with set-up, and management support.

Trent University Library recognizes the critical role of open access publishing in improving the dissemination and impact of research. Our commitment to OA is reflected in our active participation in both provincial and federal consortia, including the Ontario Council of University Libraries (OCUL) and the Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN). Through these partnerships, we strive to support the Trent community in navigating the OA publishing landscape, offering resources and discounts to facilitate the process.
By actively participating in publisher agreements negotiated by the Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN), the Library empowers Trent-affiliated researchers to leverage a number of APC discounts. TULA supports a variety of OA initiatives through monograph purchases and subscriptions in order to expand access to scholarly resources.
Our Digital Collections platform serves as a digital and institutional repository for the university community. The collections cover a wide range of materials, including faculty publications, graduate theses, archival and University heritage collections, and media.
