Current interests: Science fiction; utopia; literary and cultural theory, Anglo-American and European, especially modern and postmodern; the technological imaginary; moral panic; biopolitics. 

Publications include Moral Panic: Biopolitics Rising (Montreal: Robert Davies, 1994); Life After Postmodernism: Essays on Culture and Value, editor (St. Martin's Press, 1988); The Structural Allegory: Reconstructive Encounters with the New French Thought, editor (University of Minnesota Press, 1984); The Critical Twilight: Explorations in the Ideology of Anglo-American Literary Theory (Routledge and Kegan Paul, 1978) and many essays on criticism and cultural theory. Editorial member at various times of Canadian Journal of Communications, Canadian Journal of Political and Social Theory, CineTracts, Philosophy of Social Sciences, Science Fiction Studies and Telos. 

Note: Professor Fekete is on sabbatical in 2007/08.
