Admissions

To be considered for admission, students must have a high standing in a completed Honours degree, aptitude for interdisciplinary study, and an appropriate area of intellectual interest. It is expected that students coming into the Program will already have a good background in some area(s) of critical theory, such as Frankfurt School theory, continental philosophy, feminist and/or queer theory, psychoanalytic theory, cultural theory, communications theory, political theory, literary theory, and/or social theory. Potential applicants should review our course descriptions for more details about the Program's areas of theoretical concentration. It is also recommended that potential applicants review the list of completed M.A. theses.

The Graduate Programs Selection Committees will begin their selection process in the weeks following the application sumbission date of February 1. All applications received after this date will be accepted and considered for funding until all available positions/spaces are filled in the individual programs. Because of the limited spaces available in the TCP Program, students are encouraged to apply by the recommended deadline.

On-line application is available from the Graduate Studies site.

Applications to our program require the submission of a writing sample which can be sent electronically to graduate@trentu.ca.

Please note that completed applications should be submitted directly to the School of Graduate Studies.
