CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
Trent University Award for
Excellence in Teaching Assistance
Do you know a teaching assistant who excels at encouraging learning in workshop, tutorial, seminar, laboratory or field settings? Help recognize his or her efforts by submitting a nomination for the Trent University Award for Excellence in Teaching Assistance.
How to nominate:
- Download the nomination form.
- Complete the "Nominator Information" and the "Candidate Information" sections on the Nomination Form.
- Tell the story! Complete the "Candidate Qualifications" section by providing specific examples of how/why your candidate should be considered for the Award.
- Send the nomination form by e-mail to idc@trentu.ca no later than February 7, 2013.

Who may nominate?
Anyone internal to the Trent community who interacts with teaching assistants may submit a nomination.
What is the award criteria?
The nomination form will ask you to answer the following question:
- Present specific details about your experience with the candidate, providing clear examples that illustrate the ways in which he or she excels at encouraging learning in workshop, tutorial, seminar, laboratory or field settings.
What is the award and how is it determined?
The award has a monetary value of $750 and is accompanied by a framed certificate.
The award is announced at Senate and is presented at a celebration of teaching excellence in April. This ceremony is open to the university community.
The recipient of this award is determined by the Trent Teaching Awards Subcommittee.
Previous Recipients
An individual may receive this award only once during his or her career.
