The Thomas J. Bata Library is the anchor building of the Symons Campus and hosts a vast range of information resources, including:

  • rich collections of supporting study and research in the humanites, social sciences, and natural sciences.
  • the latest information technology to give easy access to a collection of over 40,000 print and electronic documents, over 850,000 print and online books, as well as one of Canada's leading collections of maps, air photos, statistical, and geographic information.
  • the Trent University Archives, a leading source for research on the history of pre-Confederation Ontario, and home to a number of significant collections of Canadian literary works.

Trent University is also a partner in the Scholars Portal, an initiative of academic libraries across the province of Ontario, with access to:

  • RefWorks, a tool that allows you to create a personal database to organize and manage your bibliographical references.
  • RACER, a web-based system for requesting interlibrary loans of journal articles and books not available from the Trent University Library.
