President

Brandon Hussey

Brandon is in the final year of his Honours BSc in psychology. Originally planning on becoming a clinical psychologist, he found that his motivation in terms of psychology courses in the social and cognitive realms were lacking. Gravitating more towards the side of psychology entrenched in the natural sciences, as well as all aspects of psychopathology, he began a serious overhaul of course selection, study habits, and lifestyle in attempts to prepare for medical school. Brandon recently did a research practicum with Dr. Hugo Lehmann and currently volunteers in said professor’s lab. He is also a volunteer in the emergency room of the Peterborough Regional Health Center.

Vice-President

Katlyn Robitaille

Katlyn is in the final year of her Honours BSc in psychology, completing her degree on a part-time basis. She is currently working on her Honours Thesis, a qualitative study on the experiences of young children with type 1 diabetes at school, under the supervision of Dr. Rory Coughlan. She has been an active member of the Trent Student Psychology Society for two years, has completed a Citation in Leadership, and has recently become a student representative for the Program Quality Assurance committee. Katlyn would like to continue her studies at the graduate level in I/O psychology, having interests that lie in the areas of leadership and organizational justice.

Treasurer

Nick Halmasy

Nick is a 4th year Psychology and Philosophy Joint Major. His interest in Psychology started while he was attending Sir Sandford Fleming College in Peterborough. Initially enrolled in the Paramedic program as leverage for achieving his goal of becoming a Firefighter, he ended up taking an Introduction to Psychology course. His interest was piqued, and at the advice of his teacher, he dropped his pursuit for paramedicine, took the University Transfer at Fleming, and came to Trent in his second year. He intends to come back to Trent to complete a thesis course after graduating in April and to pursue graduate school after that.
