One of the foremost principles of the Baha'i Faith is individual investigation of truth. One of the best ways to truly learn what a religion teaches is to read its original sacred text first hand, rather than rely on the second-hand account or interpretation from someone else. Although it's also useful to study the sacred texts with others in groups, reading the writings directly from the source allows you to form your own judgements and come to your own conclusions. Baha'u'llah writes:

"... see with thine own eyes and not through the eyes of others, and ... know of thine own knowledge and not through the knowledge of thy neighbor."

A great selection of Baha'i books and writings are made freely available in electronic form at the official Baha'i Reference Library maintained by the Baha'i International Community.

To borrow print copies of Baha'i books and literature, you are welcome to browse our lending library and contact abs@trentu.ca with your request.
