SOCIOLOGY AT THE OSHAWA CAMPUS
Trent University offers a full Sociology Program at Trent in Oshawa with approximately one-sixth of all Trent University sociology students taking classes in Oshawa. Courses are offered during both the day and evening in the fall/winter and summer sessions, allowing students to complete a degree solely with courses taught in Oshawa. Students can supplement their Oshawa courses with courses taught at the main campus in Peterborough.
Students graduating with degrees in Sociology from Trent in Oshawa have pursued a variety of opportunities. Some have entered the workforce in a range of occupations, such as working for insurance companies examining claims; for government agencies assisting the unemployed and potential employers; for community agencies counseling those in need. Other sociology graduates from Oshawa have continued their education by entering programs such as Masters in Social Work, Bachelor of Education, and doctoral programs.
The Department of Sociology invites you to a discussion on contemporary issues of gender and sexuality from a sociological perspective including ageing and sexuality, gender politics and Islamophobia.
