About Walkhome

• The Trent WALKHOME PROGRAM is designed for use by students, staff and faculty members. 
• It is designed to walk you from one place to another on Symons Campus or downtown at Traill and Champlain College Annex.
• It can be used after class, when you need to go the Library or Athletic Complex, or to walk you to the bus stop or parking lot.
• Also, you can arrange for a "scheduled walk" which would happen each week at a specified time. Just call 748-1748 and your call will be answered by a dispatcher who will ask your first name, where you are, and your destination.
• The dispatcher will contact a team of volunteers (two females or one male and a female) who will meet you and walk you to wherever you want to go.
• The volunteers have undergone a screening process and training program and are very capable of getting you to your destination safely.

• We are looking for volunteer walkers.
  • Email us at walkhome@trentu.ca.
  • Pick up an application form at the Walkhome office in CC 306.
  • Call us at 705- 748-1-748 during our hours.  One of the dispatchers will be more than happy to take down your information and to set up a time for training!
• We will then contact you for an interview and training dates.
