Strategic Directions 2014 is the key academic and administrative plan that embodies the University's strategic priorities leading up its 50th anniversary. The document, approved at the June 21, 2007 meeting of the Board of Governors includes information about:

• Trent's optimum size
• The centrality of the undergraduate teaching and learning experience
• Opportunities for expanded graduate education programs
• The role of international education
• Trent in Oshawa
• A revised research strategy

A number of consultations about the Strategic Directions 2014 document were carried out including meetings with Faculty Board, the caucus chairs for Humanities, Social Sciences and Science, student governments, the extended management group, Senate and the Board of Governors. Students, faculty, staff and alumni were encouraged to review the new Strategic Directions document. Comments on the strategy should be directed to strategicdirections@trentu.ca.
