Construction Management Committee

Executive Sponsor: Don O'Leary

The Construction Management Committee comprises representatives from current Steering Committees as well as the Vice Presidents Academic and Administration. Typically this Committee considers situations the Steering Committees cannot resolve, such as user expectations and requirements beyond the initial scope of work, which might require a design change and construction change order.

The Committee has met twice this spring primarily for information purposes. Due to the general contractor method in which the projects have been awarded, there normally is little change in projects from original design.

Module D Steering Committee comprises:

John Wordley, Director, Physical Resources Department
Jim Sutcliffe, Assoc. Dean of Science
Chris Williams, Sciences Facilities Manager
Linda Smith, Project Manager, Physical Resources Department
Brad White, Chair, Dept. of Biology

Comprehensive consultation and input on this project is underway. Several sessions involving faculty of the Biology Department have taken place, and three more sessions are scheduled in September. Similar discussions are taking place with the Animal Care Committee. The present schedule targets the project tendering in November and building construction underway by December 2009. Foundation work is already underway.

The Steering Committees consults with other administrative resources as required such as the Director of Information Technology, Director of Student Services, and the Vice Presidents.
