>> Don Tapscott: Good morning everyone please be seated. My name is Don Tapscott and I'm the Chancellor of Trent University and I'm a proud graduate of this institution as well. I'd like to begin on behalf of Mother Nature for apologizing for the weather today but if success is determined by your reaction to adversity then this will surely be the most successful class of 2014. Students are graduating in a very special time for Trent. We are entering our 50th anniversary in the year 2014-15 and I speak about this with some experience because I started Trent myself in 1966. I know as you look upon this very youthful person that it is hard to believe, but it's the truth. You are also graduating from Trent at a very pivotal time for our world, when everyday technology and the democratization of knowledge and power are challenging most of our institutions; everything from newspapers, the media, manufacturing, retail, government, healthcare, schools and even higher education and these revolutions are also challenging us to rethink the way that we think and how we interact with others in the world. It's my belief that with your Trent University education you have been uniquely equipped and prepared for the exciting future and the challenging future that lies ahead. I think you have the tools to take full advantage of the opportunities around you. This is your moment, your time to imagine. Create a life consequence and a purpose that's uniquely your own. A lot of hard work has gone into this day but today we celebrate all of you in a job well done and we take pause before the next chapter of your lives begin, today is for you. It is for your parents, for your loved ones and your friends, heartfelt congratulations to each of you. I declare this convocation open.
