Parking at Trent University
Trent University provides parking facilities to faculty, staff, students, and visitors either on a permit or a pay-per-use basis.
Permits, pay & display tickets or an authorized visitor pass are required to park anywhere on campus from 8:00 am to 11:00 pm Monday to Friday (except holidays as recognized by the University). All other parking regulations are enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.

Where are Permits Valid?
Pay & Display Tickets
- Pay & Display Tickets are valid in all university lots except service lots and the child care lot.
Trent Community Sport & Recreation Centre Community Member Permits (TCSRC)
- TCSRC community member permits are for use by the community member only while accessing TCSRC facilities.
- These permits are for the use of community members ONLY. If you are an employed on campus, whether full or part time or whether for Trent or one of our tenants (day care, MNR, Aramark etc) or if you are a student (FT or PT) you are not entitled to a TCSRC permit and must purchase a regular permit. The parking office will verify your status before issuing the TCSRC permit.
- These permits are only valid in F Lot (with overflow in G and H) while you are using TCSRC facilities. The permits are not to be used to access other Trent facilities such as the library. Pay & Display parking is available for this purpose.
Parking Permits
- Red permits are valid in all red, blue and green lots.
- Blue permits are valid in all blue and green lots.
- Green permits are only valid in green lots.
- After 5:00 pm, blue and green permit holders are allowed to park in red lots to enhance personal safety.
- Lots I, D, and marked portion of B are for VISITOR USE ONLY. Only pay & display tickets are valid in these lots. Permit holders wishing to park in these lots must also purchase a pay & display ticket.
How to Purchase a Permit
BEFORE PICKING UP YOUR PERMIT AT THE PARKING OFFICE, YOU MUST REGISTER AND SELECT YOUR PERMIT ON-LINE AT: http://trentu.parkadmin.ca.
- Click "create account" and complete the user profile form.
- Your password will be emailed to the email address you have included in your user profile.
- Log in to Parkadmin using your new password and change your password. Click "submit".
- Click "vehicles" and register the vehicle(s) you wish to park on campus.
- Click "parking" and select the permit you wish to buy.
- Select a payment option. Mastercard and Visa payments can be made on-line. If you select cash or debit you must pay in the parking office. STAFF AND FACULTY who wish to assign flexible benefits to parking and/or wish to use payroll deduction MUST pay in the office.
- Pick up your permit at the Parking Office, Room 103 Blackburn Hall between 0800 and 1600 Monday to Friday. If you are unable to attend campus during those hours, contact the Parking Office to make alternative arrangements.

PRIVACY STATEMENT
The personal information you provide when you register on trentu.parkadmin will be used for parking and security administrative purposes and is collected under the authority of the Trent University Act, Section 18(3)(c) and the Trespass to Property Act R.S.O.1990c.T21. Uses including identification of vehicle owners for security and enforcement purposes and permit and violation processing. For students, this may involve annual transfer of unpaid fees to your student financial account for collection. You must agree to these terms to procure a Trent University parking permit. If you do not agree, or if you have questions regarding the collection of your personal information, please contact the Parking & Access Control Supervisor in Blackburn Hall tel: 748-1011 ext. 7324. Should you decide not to purchase a permit after registering, we will remove your personal information from the system on request. Otherwise, your personal information will be retained while you are an active parking client and three years thereafter, at which time they will be deleted from the database.

Display of Permits
Permits must be hung from the rear view mirror or displayed on the lower left of the front windshield. The entire face of the permit must be displayed so that the date, time, number and colour are clearly visible from the exterior of the vehicle. Permit holders who forget to display their permit will receive a parking policy violation notice. The first offence in any academic year will result in a warning; subsequent offences will result in a parking policy violation fee.
Motorcycles
Motorcycles with engine displacements in excess of 50 ccs require parking permits. If you already have a permit for your car, you can add your motorcycle to your parking account as a second vehicle. Permits do not have to be displayed on your motorcycle as long as your plate number is registered on your account. Pay & Display slips, however, must be displayed. Elastic bands are available from the Parking Office for this purpose.
Obtaining Permits
- All parking permits, visitor passes etc. are issued by, and remain the property of, Trent University. They are solely for the use of the party or parties (in the case of carpools) to whom they are issued. Transfer by sale or exchange renders the permit invalid. Unauthorized use will result in confiscation of the permit and the issuance of a parking policy violation fee. In addition, the vehicle may be towed and parking privileges suspended.
- Patrons must register and buy permits on-line at http://trentu.parkadmin.ca. Payment may be made on-line or at the Parking and Access Control Office in Blackburn Hall. Permits must be picked up at the Parking and Access Control Office.
- In order to obtain a parking permit, all outstanding parking parking policy violation fees and penalties must be paid in full.
- All lost or stolen permits must be reported immediately to the Parking and Access Control Office. A $50.00 replacement fee will be charged.
- Change of information: Permit holders are responsible to update their parkadmin user account whenever there are changes to their vehicle or user profile information.

Note: Staff or faculty who wish to use their flex benefits for parking MUST pay at the Parking Office. Cash and debit card payments must be made at the Parking Office. Credit card and payroll deduction payments may be made securely on-line.
