The Oliver Ecological Centre is located in Canada in the province of Ontario, about 75 km north of Lake Ontario and 50 km east of Lake Simcoe. It is nested around the Great Lakes, in the Kawartha Lakes region.

The Centre's waterfront is on Pigeon Lake, which is connected via the Trent Canal system to many other lakes in the region, and ultimately connecting Lake Simcoe with Lake Ontario.

The closest city is Peterborough, with a population of about 65,000 people. Trent University is located in the northern end of Peterborough. The town of Bobcaygeon, located between Sturgeon and Pigeon Lakes, is the closest town to the Centre.

Directions for Getting to the Oliver Property

The Centre is accessed via a side road off highway 36, which connects the towns of Bobcaygeon and Buckhorn.

From Peterborough, ON, Canada:
Take highway 28 north from Peterborough to the intersection at highway 507 (about 10 km). Turn left onto highway 507, and proceed north through Buckhorn (about 20 km), where the highway 507 joins with highway 36. Proceed north on highway 36/507 to the intersection where 507 and 36 split (about 7.5 km). Continue on highway 36 west (about 8 km), and turn left (south) onto Mill Line Road (#1481) (after Xeon station; if you hit Nogies Creek you have gone too far on Hwy 36). Continue south on Mill Line Road for about 2.5 km, past a golf course on the left and a marina on the right. The entrance to the Oliver Ecological Centre is signed and will be on the right. From Toronto, ON, Canada:
Take highway 401 east to highway 35/115 exchange (about 50 km from Toronto's east border). Proceed north on highway 35/115, continuing north on highway 35 past the intersection where highway 115 splits off northeast (about 19 km). Continue north on highway 35 to Lindsay, turning right onto highway 36 in Lindsay. Take highway 36 northeast past Bobcaygeon (in the direction of Buckhorn), turning right (south) onto Mill Line Road (#1481, the first side road after Nogies Creek going right). Continue south on Mill Line Road for about 2.5 km, past a golf course on the left and a marina on the right. The entrance to the Oliver Ecological Centre is signed and will be on the right (Google maps link).
