Non-Academic Requirements For Employment
For ALL Clinical Instructors and Faculty who will be supervising or meeting students, and/or preceptors in the clinical setting:
The TFSON provides clinical practicum experiences for our nursing students. In meeting with our affiliation agreements, all clinical instructors and faculty members who will be supervising or meeting students and/or preceptors in the clinical setting must meet the below requirements.
The following requirements must be on file in the Non-Academic Coordinator's office (Cheryl Harris) no less than 20 business days prior to the start on the semester in which the clinical practicum rotation occurs:
- Completed Immunization and Communicable Disease Form (Only required first term of employment)*
- Police Check with VSS (current within last 12 months or current within 6 months if instructing in a long term care facility)
- Mask Fit Testing (current within past 2 years)
- One-Step TB skin testing (current within last 12 months)
- CPR level C or HCP (current within last 12 months)
- Influenza Vaccination (when it becomes available in the fall)
- Proof of tetanus immunization (current within 10 years)
Full-Time Faculty Only: Note that if you are supervising/meeting students and have not met these requirements, you will have to meet with the students away from the clinical setting.

*The Immunization and Communicable Disease Form outlining the requirements is attached; this is the information which will form the basis of your confidential file which will be held in the office of the Coordinator Non Academic Requirements.

Winter 2018 – deadline date for instructors is November 10, 2017
